Fine-Dine Restaurant by Chokhi Dhani Group

This photo shoot and making video was like going on an exotic adventure to one of a palaces in India. Choke Dhani is like an art gallery, not just an restaurant with fine food but also a feast for your eyes. Before you enter the place you are welcomed by made of Bronze 2 Tonnes life-sized Elephant Sculpture. Then inside another artwork called “Jharokha”. It is a type of overhanging enclosed balcony & an essential element of Rajasthani architecture. It is made of Shisham and Mango Wood and because of intricate carving; it took several months to bring this artwork to form. Making a video for this client was not a typical restaurant assignment. They wanted to promote the art pieces and make sure that they are the main focus point. Another example of Indian future is a painting that depicts wedding procession. It is a 30 feet long canvas painting that beautifully outlines a regal wedding procession, perfectly complementing the concept of Rajasthani hospitality. This is followed by 18 feet long marble mural, hand-crafted and hand painted, displaying the scenic beauty of Harem. In the ancient era, Harem used to be a separate part of a household reserved for the women.

I visited the restaurant on two occasions , but can not make my mind when it looks better - during a day or at evening time. Handmade pieces comes to life in daylight , especially when touched by sun rays helping colours to come a life , textures reveals organic origin. Evening vibe on the other hand is electrifying and mysterious, you might even feel like a movie star on a set.

I had a great time making a promotional video for Chokhi Dhani Group - a piece of jewellery in the hard of Wandsworth in London.
